UEFA changed qualification system for Euro 2016

Wolfgang Niersbach, chief of German football federation, have informed, that qualifying matches for Euro 2016 will be played for a period of 6 days from Thursday to Tuesday. Until now qualifying matches was played only on Fridays and Tuesdays.

In interview for a "Sport Bild" Magazine, Niersbach explained that matches of 2 qualifying groups will be held on Thursday and Sunday, Friday and Monday, Saturday and Tuesday. That's mean that teams will have one day less of rest than before (between Friday and Tuesday)

Exact Qualifying time and days in which matches will be held will be decided one week after groups draw, which will sustain in Nice (France) on February 23 of 2014.
Participate in qualify will take 53 countries and France already have a place in Euro 2016 as a host country. For a first time 24 teams will take participants in Euro 2016, in previous championships only 16 teams were able to participate in this tournament.
In qualification tournament teams will be spited for 9 groups - 8 of them with six teams and 1 one of them with 5 teams.
Direct way to a final will win 19 teams (two best teams from each group and the best team from third place of all groups). Eight other teams which took third place will be splitted to four pairs with chances get to final.
