Jonava as most active in Velomarathon 2013

On 25th August the biggest cycling event of Lithuania - Velomarathon 2013 - took place in Vilnius. The President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė awarded the most active team coming from Jonava and including both adults and children.

During the award ceremony the President underlined that the cycling event and its participants are an example, that we do not need any special efforts or big amounts of money in order to have an amusing hobby and stay fit – all we need is a bicycle and a will to achieve our goals.

Velomarathon 2013, which took place last Sunday in Vilnius, appeared to be a very popular event – there were about 10,000 cyclists from 700 teams taking part. The cyclists were coming from 24 countries: Australia, Belarus, Belgium, Estonia, Finland, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Russia, Ukraine, etc.
