Lithuanians in World Athletics Championships

World Athletics Championships which took place in Moscow on 13th August were a successful event for Lithuanian athletes. Kristina Saltanovič, Brigita Virbalytė-Dimšienė and Neringa Aidietytė took place in the women's walking race of 20 km. 
Brigita Virbalytė-Dimšienė was the best among the Lithuanians; she crossed the finish line with a time of 1:31.58, and took 20th place. Kristina Saltanovič took the 21st place when she crossed the line after 1:32.1. Neringa Aidietytė finished the race as 41st with a time of 1:34.32. The winner of the race was Yelena Lashmanova. She is the Russian Olympic gold medalist from London 2012. The second place went to Anisija Kirdiapkina, while the third – to Hong Liu from China. www.L24.lt
