The universiade is over - Lithuanians have 10 medals

This Wednesday was the last day of the two week long universiade in Kazan, Russia. Lithuanian sportsmen performed well and ranked eleventh in total. Lithuanians won 10 medals - 6 gold, 1 silver, and 3 bronze. 
In the final ranking Lithuania outperformed Germany, France, United Kingdom, Poland, and others. Lithuania was represented by 91 students in 12 sports. In the universiade two years ago Lithuanians won 13 medals and achieved the best result in the history of an independent Lithuania. In 2015 the universiade will be organized in South Korea.
