Ardzijauskas plans the run for 2018-2019, the Fire-and-Rescue Department said. The route should run across Lithuania, Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Iran, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia, Fiji, Japan, Hawaii, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, Ireland, Great Britain, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland and back to Lithuania.
The amateur runner intends to cover the 22,000-27,000 km distance within 9-12 months.
Ardzijauskas, 45, has been serving in the fire-and-rescue force since 1994. Running since 1980, he has covered over 80,000 km over 35 years.
