The Kaunas University of Technology's (KTU) stand at GameOn will invite gamers to learn about the history of the gaming culture in Lithuania and to experience some gameplay innovations. The Expo will take place this Friday 31 October at Vilnius Siemens Arena.
Let's Compete With a 3D Rowing Simulator
Those, who think videogames are not compatible with a healthy life-style will have to question their beliefs while training with virtual yoga coach Yogamin, who adapts both to the mood and to the physical state of the client.
The competitive gamers will be invited to participate in a rowing race with a rowing simulator equipped with virtual reality software. The fans will be able to watch the race live after installing the app designed for the race.
Studying at KTU Can Kickstart a Game Developer's Career
The KTU stand will also feature the virtual solutions created for international companies by the University students. One of such solutions is a game called TrashTube, which was developed for the Austrian waste management company Brantner. The player puts on the virtual reality glasses Oculus Rift and, while sliding down the trash tube, he or she has to collect recycling badges avoiding hitting at the walls.
Wine connoisseurs will be able to test their knowledge while playing WineCoaster, which was created for one of the oldest wineries in Austria Weingut Stadt Krems. The players of this game take the roller-coaster ride through Krems district and have to collect enough grapes for three bottles of wine.
The creator of the game Nebula 44 and one of the founders of game developing company Tiny Lab Productions, KTU graduate Artūras Šlajus will invite the visitors to try out new products developed by the company.
The KTU representatives at the stand will answer all the questions about the University's study programmes for the future game developers.
Inspired by KTU's Event
According to the organisers, the initiative for GameOn was based on the phenomenal success of InfoShow LanParty – a regular event in Kaunas, organised by the Student's Union of the Faculty of Informatics at KTU.
Last April LanParty broke a record attracting almost two thousands of gamers into one space.
