29 Lithuanian students competed for the exclusive opportunity to work at NASA. Three best candidates were selected after several stages of the competition. NASA selected two of them.
Narkeliunas is a master's student specialising in physics and astrophysics at VU Faculty of Physics. Brazdziunas studies biophysics and is in his senior year at VU Faculty of Natural Sciences. During international placements at NASA Ames Research Centre in Palo Alto, California, students from all over the world carry out concrete research projects based on specific internship topics.
The possibility of internship at NASA opened up for Lithuanian students when in 2014 it signed a cooperation agreement with Lithuania's Agency for Science, Innovation and Technology (MITA).
