Since 2012, our Road Research Institute has been authorised by the Lithuanian Road Administration under the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Lithuania, to represent Lithuania at FEHRL Association.
During the two days of FEHRL General Assembly, they discussed the results, achievements and the future of the international roads and transport infrastructure projects, the CEDR (Conference of European Directors of Roads) and Horizon 2020 research programmes. They also discussed the possibilities of renewal and supplement of the strategic FEHRL European Road Research Programme and other issues.
After the Assembly, the Directors of the European National Road Research Institutes went on a study visit to the Road Research Institute of VGTU. At the experimental road-pavement test strip, they examined the unique road-pavement testing infrastructure, important on regional and European level.
The participants of FEHRL General Assembly positively assessed the Road Research Institute as a high-level scientific organization in the field of road infrastructure, and its ongoing activities and performed scientific researches as particularly important for all European region. The Directors of the European National Road Research Institutes also expressed their intention cooperate more closely with Road Research Institute in international road research projects.
