On May 13, 2015, Linas Čereška, the head of JSC "Bureau Veritas Lit", awarded to Alfonsas Daniūnas, the Rector of VGTU, the Certificate, proving that the University Quality Management System complies with the International quality standard ISO 9001: 2008 requirements for lifelong learning studies, organisation and execution, in the scientific (artistic) and innovation areas.
The goal of the Quality Management System is to ensure efficient and effective use of the managerial tools, in order to increase VGTU quality of study and scientific services. During the implementation of the project, they carried out a thorough analysis of the situation, organised training events for the community of the University, created the models of the Quality Management System processes and information, and performed the installation. The team of thirty Internal Auditors conducted the internal audits of the major processes of the University.
Throughout the entire project, the specialists of JSC "Economic Consulting and Research'' consulted the community of the University. The Auditors of the company "Bureau Veritas Lit" audited the Quality Management System. After the audit, the specialists were satisfied with the activities carried out by VGTU and their responsible attitude towards the study and scientific activities. The process of the University systems management, as well as other processes, received positive assessment, too. They noted that such an institution properly handled the work.
The Quality Management System is the tool, allowing the authorities of the University to measure and manage the processes at the University. The certification shows the management's further intentions to continue, encourage and support changes in the institution, in order to better meet the expectations of all stakeholders and to achieve recognition as well as better performance.
