The delegation spent one day at VGTU Faculty of Transport Engineering. Vilius Bartulis, the Dean of the faculty and representatives of the Department of Logistics and Transport Management, communicated with the delegation from Finland. In addition, the guests visited the Departments of Urban Development and Roads of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering, learned about their study programs and visited laboratories.
The delegation from Häme University of Applied Sciences learned about the transport system of Vilnius and all Lithuania - they visited the Traffic Management Centre "Lithuanian Railways", established last year, and operating trains all over Lithuania. They also visited enterprises "Susisiekimo paslaugos", managing our capital's public transport, "Velo-city", responsible for bicycle transport in Vilnius, "Viltechna", making decisions on transport and lighting, as well as Lithuanian Traffic Police Service.
VGTU and Häme University of Applied Sciences have already signed a Bilateral Exchange Agreement, and during this visit, they discussed further cooperation opportunities and decided to strengthen their cooperation, e.g., encouraging students to gain experience working at the counterpart's enterprises.
The guests were happy with good reception at VGTU as well as cultural and social programmes and informal communication with colleagues from Lithuania.
