Lithuanian director wins Sundance's World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award

Lithuanian director Alante Kavaite has won World Cinema Dramatic Directing Award at Sundance Film Festival for her film The Summer of Sangaile. The film had its World Premiere at Sundance and was screened as the day one film, reports LETA/ELTA, referring to the Lithuanian Film Centre. The film tells the story of the 17-year-old Sangaile who is fascinated by stunt planes. She meets a girl her age at the summer aeronautical show near her parents' lakeside villa. Sangaile allows Auste to discover her most intimate secret and in the process finds in her teenage love, the only person who truly encourages her to fly. The film will have its European premiere in Berlin Film Festival where it will be screened in the main programme of Panorama.
