The university has 460 foreign students now, KTU said in a statement.
According to preliminary figures provided by the Information Technology Centre of Lithuanian Ministry of Science and Education, a total of 1,582 international students have entered higher education institutions in Lithuania this autumn. At the moment, there are 4,618 of them studying in Lithuania.
Lithuania is becoming a more popular study choice across the world as during the last two years the number of international students grew by almost a thousand. One of the top majors among international students studying in Lithuania is mechanical engineering studies at KTU: it has been chosen by 92 students from other countries.
KTU says that the growing number of international students is positively influencing Lithuania's economy and its profitability cannot be measured monetarily.
