The VU Rector election process is ongoing. One key element is approving the candidate's suitability, followed by public introductions and discussions with the community. We invite you to get acquainted with the election schedule and take an active part in the discussion:
• On 15 January at 15:00, the candidate will introduce himself at a public meeting of the Council in the Senate Hall (Universiteto g. 3, Vilnius).
• On 17 January at 13:00, the candidate’s introduction is scheduled to take place in the Theatre Hall, where all members of the VU community are welcome (Universiteto g. 3, Vilnius). A livestream of this discussion will also be available.
• On 20 January at 16:00, the candidate will meet with students at an open meeting of the Parliament of VU Students’ Representation in the Scholarly Communication and Information Centre (Saulėtekio al. 5, Vilnius).
• On 22 January at 15:00, a presentation of the candidate to the members of the Council will take place at a closed meeting of the Council (Universiteto g. 3, Vilnius).
• On 23 January at 15:00, the newly elected Council will make its final decision and elect the Rector of Vilnius University at a closed meeting (Universiteto g. 3, Vilnius).
This process provides the whole VU community with the opportunity to get to know the candidate and his vision, as well as ask relevant questions. The Rector election will end on 23 January, when the Council will take its final decision.
The dates and locations of the events are provided to ensure transparency and community involvement; therefore, each and every member of the community is invited to actively participate in the public meetings or watch the live stream.
