"We have no doubt that the new ABB electrical drives laboratory will provide students with the opportunity to share knowledge and technological innovations, helping them acquire practical skills applicable in their professional careers," said Justinas Pesliakas, the Business Director for Electrical Drives and Motors at ABB.
In this laboratory students will have a chance to learn and conduct laboratory work using state-of-the-art equipment widely used in the industrial sector. The university as donations will receive ACS880 educational stands for electrical drives, electric motors, smart electric motor monitoring sensors with access to a monitoring platform, AC500 programmable logic controllers, smart energy consumption meters, and electrical engineering components. According to ABB's electric motor sales specialist Ovidijus Grigas, this equipment will be continuously supplemented, updated, and improved with technologically innovative solutions.
One of the expectations of this collaboration is the opportunity to participate in scientific research and innovation projects. According to Professor of VILNIUS TECH Dr. Sonata Tolvaišienė, this partnership will give VILNIUS TECH students a chance to address technological challenges and broaden their knowledge. Such a laboratory at the university can open doors for students to participate in internships, practical experiences, projects related to real technological problems and solution implementation. This provides students with an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and understand how their knowledge can be applied in real-world business settings.
