Why 11,000?
It is exactly this distance that connects the seven universities of the ATHENA Alliance in Lithuania, Germany, France, Portugal, Italy, Greece and Slovenia.
This initiative is closely linked to the global idea of a green and eco-friendly Europe, and the aim is to cover this distance through environmentally friendly sports such as running, walking, swimming, cycling and so on.
How did it go?
Immediatelly from the beggining, VILNIUS TECH joined the initiative most actively. We rode our bikes, ran, walked, meditated and swam in the icy water. This has led other cities to become more active. And three days before the finish - just four thousand kilometers are needed to cover the 11 000 distance three times and reach a result of 33 000!
Can I still and how can I participate?
We will calculate the final results on May 9th, at midnight. And 10 VILNIUS TECH community members who moved the most and in the most interesting way as well as shared their kilometers at the ATHENATHON Strava club or on social networks Facebook or Instagram with hashtags #athenathon #vilniustech on May 10th will awarded with VILNIUS TECH sweaters.
