During the meeting, LURC members were also electing the Council: Vilnius Art Academy Rector Dr Ieva Skauronė was re-elected as a Vice-President, Prof Kęstutis Kriščiūnas will continue in his position as a Secretary-General and the Rector of Lithuanian Sports University Dr Diana Rėklaitienė will be the fourth member of the Council.
The Lithuanian University Rectors’ Conference facilitates the communication between rectors (directors) of higher education institutions and their relations with state and municipality governing institutions. Among its goals, the Conference aims to foster the development of Lithuanian science, study, culture and economy.
