Researchers of KTU School of Economics and Business have carried out the research in order to identify the needs and challenges of European manufacturing corporations, belonging to EIT Manufacturing network and other companies among which are Volkswagen, Liebherr, Whirpool, Airbus, Siemens, and others. The research revealed that the major European companies are facing the need for such innovation and technologies like artificial intelligence, internet of things, simulation and virtual reality, sustainable production and solutions, which would allow improving the situation of enterprises facing the consequences of COVID-19 pandemic.
Gazelle Accelerator, aiming to reach and get in alignment with the latest society and industrial priorities, enlarges its challenges to contribute at solving the most urgent crisis in the industry sector, caused by COVID-19 outbreak. Industries and businesses, as they will transition back into post coronavirus crisis, will be confronted to new challenges that will prioritize solutions towards accelerating automation, new ways of working, effective remote working, virtual work and digital environment, among others; above traditional office and industry settings. Gazelle Accelerator will, therefore, encourage and value proposals that are focused on providing solutions to help industries to face impact by the coronavirus and accommodate to new emerging-tech-enabled business models.
This Call of Interest is looking for promising SMEs & Start-ups who will answer to challenges that manufacturing companies have expressed in the following industry 4.0 technologies:
- Analytics & Artificial Intelligence
- Internet of Things
- Simulation & Virtual Reality
- Sustainable Manufacturing
Gazelle Accelerator will encourage, as well, proposals that are focused on providing solutions in these and other technologies, to help industries to face economic impact, and accommodation of new emerging-tech-enabled business models, due to coronavirus outbreak.
Gazelle Accelerator aims at supporting existing technology-based companies, SMEs and Start-ups, by accelerating their international business and innovation capacities. Selected SMEs and Start-ups will benefit from a programme that includes activities that go from business coaching with experts, access to finance, access to market; to facilitating business development in other European countries.
