The increase in sector‘s growth and export‘s volume results in the increased requirements for the specialists and the need to start partnership with the representatives of other sectors, for that reason the contact fair "IMKI 2014" was held on April 17, organised by the students of VGTU Faculty of Creative Industries. During the event, visiting leading companies of public relations, marketing, TV, media and companies of other areas, students learnt about their activities and had a chance to show their own abilities, while performing tasks, presented by the representatives of the companies.
"The aim of this initiative is to establish a network of creative industries, the central axis of which would be the university. There is an inexhaustible potential of creative economy in Lithuania, with "IMKI" being the meeting place for business people meet professionals of other creative industries and young specialists for discussion on possible development and cooperation tendencies. One of them being that of integration of business issues into the study process", - stated Justas Nugaras, Project Coordinator and Vice-Dean for the development of VGTU Faculty of Creative Industries.
More than fifty creative industries students participated at the contacts and experience exchange fair "IMKI 2014", visiting well known in Lithuania enterprises and organisations, such as "15 min.", LRT, the U.S. Embassy, "IDEA Havas Media", "VRP Hill+Knowlton strategies" and others. These visits allowed students to make contacts for the future and to show their knowledge and competence, achieved during studies. Performing the tasks, presented by the companies, such as creation a video clip, planning a media event or communication strategy, students needed various abilities.
"IMKI 2014" is a good initiative and we are happy to have projects, allowing our students to have a real job practice. The teams, presenting their ideas at the U.S. Embassy, were very creative ones, and we are inviting such students for participation at the Embassy practice programme", - said Nina Murray, the U.S. Cultural Attaché at the U.S. Embassy.
It was the third time when "IMKI" invited representatives of cultural industries and students for discussions. The final meeting of the event took place at the cafe "Reinis the COOK", where the representatives of business, organisations and the university exchanged experience and contacts, discussed on the creative industries‘ development topics, the most perspective students were awarded.
