"The first Lithuanian satellites created through a diligent work of researchers are already in outer space. They carry a message that we are an inventive, innovative and talented nation. The achievement of Lithuanian researchers shows that we can do really much, when we are united and work responsibly. These are the people and their achievements that shape the future of our country and stress Lithuania's visibility in the whole world," said the president in the meeting with researchers of Vilnius University and Kaunas University of Technology.
As reported, on February 28, 2014 the first ever Lithuania's satellites LitSat-1, developed by Kaunas University of Technology, and LituanicaSat-1, developed by Vilnius University, were successfully released to the orbit from the NASA Space Centre in the US.
