While signing the agreement, VGTU Rector Alfonsas Daniūnas expressed his delight at the fact that the new partner is not only the largest company in Lithuania in terms of income, it is also one of the biggest employers in the country. He highlighted, that goals of both parties coincide, because both care for the education of highly qualified staff. This means more joint activities: from technological to management. He noted, that formalised partnership will allow to take faster steps towards a closer and multi-dimensional cooperation, predominantly in the area of studies.
“Agreement with Vilnius Gediminas Technical University is mutually beneficial. Business should develop their activities with regard to the most recent scientific achievements, innovations and the latest knowledge, and to attract future talent. I think the university benefits from cooperation with business because it provides possibilities to develop students’ practical skills, more places for internships are available and there is more potential for joint projects. We represent industry and we take education of future staff very seriously. Education institutions are important in our network. This is the third cooperation agreement we have signed this year,” said Michal Rudnicki, the General Director of ORLEN Litetuva.
