Established in 2012, Data Dog started as a team three friends developing e-commerce solutions. Now Data Dog has a team of 100 people spread throughout Europe – in Lithuania, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Austria, Luxembourg and Greece. Currently, 44 people are working in Kaunas team.
The company has also developed and grew in a sense of products: “We have taken a huge step from what we were doing in 2012: we’re developing specific, often artificial intelligence (AI) technology-based software for resource planning, supply chain management, sales and customer service operations in the companies.”
Both Janickas and other Data Dog founders are from here, therefore Kaunas was a natural choice for the company’s main headquarters. The CEO believes that Kaunas has a substantial pool of technology professionals, and in order to find and grow new talents, Data Dog has been cooperating with Kaunas University of Technology from the very beginning.
“We are contributing to education, as we realise that only by sharing hands-on knowledge and everyday job situations, we will help graduates and young specialists to adapt to real work. Our employees visit the University, deliver lectures, organise practical assignments and help the groups to carry out semester projects”, says Janickas.
He explains that the company aims to introduce and show technologies which are used in real life: they are developing so fast that study programs do not manage to go hand in hand with the trends.
“Also, one of our expectations is that by investing our time and sharing knowledge with students, we will have the opportunity to work with them in the future”, says Janickas, CEO of Data Dog.
The head of the company, who is leading a team of over a hundred professionals across Europe together with their partners “Satalia”, says that Kaunas remains an attractive place for a technological company and he is not afraid of the growing competition in this sector.
