“The most important thing for us is to reach people, because it is people that create companies. We are sure that in Kaunas, with the assistance of Kaunas University of Technology, we will be able to find the people we need”, said Gerold Lucas, Member of the Board of the HELLA Group in an interview published at the start of the new plant building project last year.
According to the article published by Invest Lithuania, the fast realisation of the plant – the construction project was accomplished in less than a year – among other things speaks of great ongoing cooperation between HELLA and local Lithuanian partners.
“With its new plant in Lithuania, we are creating an important prerequisite for meeting the rising demand for our innovative product solutions while continuing our profitable growth path”, said HELLA CEO Dr Rolf Breidenbach during the opening ceremony of the new plant.
With its new plant in the Kaunas Free Economic Zone, HELLA will serve the rising demand for electronics components on the European market. The production focus will initially be on lighting electronics components and is soon to be expanded by various sensors, actuators and control units. Currently, around 70 employees are working for HELLA in Lithuania. Over time, the number of employees is intended to increase to 250.
