This is the main reason behind the popularity of study programmes Big Data for Business and Applied Mathematics at the Kaunas University of Technology Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. The demand of big data analysists is confirmed by business, say the representatives of Centric IT Alexandru Manoila and Eglė Valantinė who visited the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences recently.
“We need maths specialists, big data analysts and similar professionals, that’s why we are participating in the study process, communicating with students on various levels – by offering them work placement and permanent positions in the company”, said the representatives of Centric IT who have

During the meeting it was decided to continue cooperation and to aim for common goals – development of student potential and possibilities – together.
“One of the main reasons for Centric to settle in Kaunas was the potential of the University. We are really interested to collaborate with KTU in research and development programs, to support local initiatives into this domain and continuously support local development of talent. Investment into education will increase the quality of living, local environment and eventually it will be visible into the economic progress”, in previous interviews with KTU had said Freddie Veltmaat, Technology Director at Centric.
In March 2018 a Dutch IT company Centric announced about its plans to establish a division in Kaunas and to employ 200 specialists over the next three years. Established in 1992, Centric now has divisions in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Norway, Sweden, and Romania. It employs around 4,300 staff.
