MRU delegated students from the Faculty of Law and the Institute of Communication to attend the Summer School to increase knowledge and skills in the field of mediation.
A total of 40 Bachelor's and Master's Degree students are taking part in the course from 6 partner universities. They come from Austria, Bulgaria, Latvia, Italy, the Czech Republic, and Lithuania
Lessons and practical seminars are offered by professors from 4 partner universities as well as professional mediators.
MRU was represented by Law Faculty Assoc. Prof. Agnė Tvaronavičienė and Assoc. Prof. Natalija Kaminskienė. They are giving interactive trainings together with partners from other universities.
During the course, students explore topics of mediation, learning theory. They participate in study visits and discussions with professional mediators and also train practical skills through role-plays and simulations.
This year special attention has been placed on online mediation and new techniques and online tools in the field of mediation. Project partners, within the framework of the project, develop an online mediation training platform.
This intensive course provides an opportunity to test the newly-developed platform and receive feedback from students.
The platform will be officially launched and available for interested universities or mediation training institutions from March 2019. More information is available on http://mediation.turiba.lv
