The agreement is planned to be signed during a meeting of Baltic education ministers in Vilnius on June 7. The agreement will apply to the qualifications issued after the agreement comes into effect.
When the agreement has come into effect, universities and employers will no longer have to turn to the relevant authority for the initiation of a recognition procedure.
Besides, the agreement's stepping into effect will terminate the agreement between the governments of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania on academic recognition among the education institutions of the three countries from 2000.
