Accreditation organization Joint Commission International certifies medical institutions in North and South America, Europe and other continents. Other healthcare organizations which have a similar certificate and are closest to Lithuania are located in Prague and in Copenhagen. During the two year preparation for accreditation Kardiolita invested LTL 200,000 (EUR 58,000).
Andrius Jonutis, Deputy General Director at Kardiolita, says that the certificate is not only the evaluation of achievements, but it also enables to expand the geography of activity by attracting patients from the Nordic countries, the United Kingdom, the United States and Western Europe.
"The fact that international accreditation has reached Lithuania will raise the bar for quality even higher and will enable Lithuanian patients to receive highest quality medical services," said Jonutis.
Joint Commission International certifies that the healthcare institution's structure, management, equipment, personnel, infrastructure, environment and all services that it provides meet the international standards. Carrying out the assessment, the commission of foreign experts focused that the clinical activities would be based on the latest scientific research and recommendations of the specialized international organizations.
Foreign experts especially highly evaluated how Kardiolita ensures patients' rights, as well as its surgery and sterilization activities.
