Applicant Requirements
Requirements for students who are eligible for participation in the competition:
- BA or MA students;
- good studying results (grade point average for the last two semesters is no less than 8);
- strong motivation and clear goals.
- Participants are requested to register and fill in the application form online at http://bit.ly/exchangeJapan.
Application Documents
In addition to the application form, the following documents must be provided:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- Digital photo
- Copy of passport.
Before choosing a foreign university, participants are requested to check if that university offers courses matching their study programme at VMU. Students who wish to participate in the competition should consult the international relations coordinator at their faculty, choose the foreign university in which they want to study, and apply.

Selection Stages
The competition has two stages of selection. The first stage is the submission of required documents via online application form. Applications will be evaluated by the selection committee and only the appropriate candidates will be invited to the second stage – the interview with the selection committee. Students who pass the second stage will be nominated to partner universities and will be able to start application procedures for studies abroad.
Students can win scholarships offered by the Japanese government or universities or the VMU Mobility Scholarship (500EUR per month).
Students who are not granted a VMU exchange scholarship may travel abroad to study at the university of their choice using their own personal funds.
