The renovation of the building was started in 2010. The sum reaching LTL 6 million (EUR 1.7 million) was distributed to the renovation of the building from the EU structural support.
According to Director of the M. K. Ciurlionis Arts School Romualdas Kundrotas, this renovation was to improve the conditions for students' learning.
"This enlargement is connected with the main building of the school. As a result, the students and especially the young children should not go afield to reach another building. Our young artists will finally see the light because the penthouse was being built and the special lightening established," said the director.
