The conference's participants will be greeted by Audronė Pitrėnienė, Chair of the Seimas Committee on Education, Science, and Culture, Adrie van der Rest, Chair of EUNEC, and Prof. Vilija Targamadzė, Chair of the Lithuanian Education Council.
The European Commission's activities in this area will be covered by Annalisa Cannoni, a representative of the EC; Dr Paul Downes, Education and Human Development Centre Director and senior psychology lecturer, St. Patrick's College, Jean-Pascal Lüthi, a representative of Switzerland's State Secretariat for Education, Research, and Innovation, and Martine Poirier, a representative of the University of Sherbrooke, all of whom will share insights. Dr Saulius Zybartas, Head of the Ministry of Education and Science Department for Secondary Education and Vocational Training, and Gražvydas Kazakevičius, Head of the National Agency for School Evaluation, will present the situation in Lithuania.
All conference events will take place at the Seimas Conference Hall (III palace).
On 18 November at 12.30 pm the event participants' press conference will be held (at the Seimas Press Conference Hall, II palace).

The EUNEC annual conference, Early School Leavers (except for the working party's sessions) will be streamed live on the Seimas website and the Lithuanian Presidency of the EU Council parliamentary dimension website.
EUNEC unites the national education councils of EU Member States, which cooperate with their governments and provide consultancy on education. Through EUNEC, education councils share information. Close cooperation of education councils helps the goal of a common education policy in the EU. EUNEC is responsible for organizing meetings of national education councils.
