The company will use the funding to develop its scientific research infrastructure.
Funding according to the measure Intelektas LT+ was provided to one of the largest Lithuanian optical coating manufacturers when it signed a tripartite agreement with the Lithuanian Business Support Agency (LVPA) and the Ministry of Economy.
Optida plans to use the money to buy and set up new equipment needed for research and to gather a team which will conduct the research. It is anticipated that the project will have a positive effect on activity results and export, and will enable the business to expand.
Main products of Optida are: precision interference filters, dichroic beam splitters, polarizers, polarizing beam cubes, dielectric mirrors and antireflective coatings. Most of the production is sold to Lithuanian companies involved in laser technologies. The company constantly carries out scientific research in cooperation with scientific institutions.
Optida will implement already the fifth project administered by LVPA. The projects amount to LTL 9 million (EUR 2.6 million), of which LTL 6 million (EUR 1.7 million) were provided from the European Regional Development Fund.
Measure Intelektas LT+ is meant for initial investments in scientific research and technological development infrastructure of new or existing companies.
