But not everything was hard work: during their 5 weeks of being in Lithuania all students had 2 planned cultural trips. One of the trips was a three- day long journey to Lithuanian seaside. This trip included a visit to Hill of Crosses in Šiauliai, a tour in the Cold War Museum in Plateliai, the towns of Palanga, Neringa, the seaport Klaipėda and everything in between. The second trip took students to Druskininkai, where they were introduced to Lithuanian talent M.K. Čiurlionis, where they saw a lot of Lithuanian history, but also had a chance to climb trees and fly over Nemunas in UNO recreation park. The second day of the trip gave students a chance to see Merkinė and Liškiava Mounds, climb on top of them and enjoy green summer view of Lithuania.
We hope 23 students from California Polytechnic State University will remain friends to their Lithuanian colleagues- summer school participants, share their experience with other students from their home university and will represent Lithuania and VGTU well, as they have been really good representatives of their own culture for us.
