On June 12-16, the Baltic Sea Science Congress was attended by quite a numerous delegation of Klaipėda University: it consisted of 24 scientists, including 12 doctoral students. They gave presentations on different topics, from the quality of water and the impact of alien species to the changes in the Curonian Spit dunes and other subjects relevant to the Baltic Sea and its coast.
The University sailboat Brabander became the centre of attraction in the conference, and a number of different scientific meetings were held in it. The Brabander amazed the participants by its beauty and popularised the name of Lithuania as a maritime state.
At the end of the conference, the sailboat Brabander was ready for another trip with new expedition members: the team for the trip from Germany to Klaipėda was an international group of scientists from Latvia, Lithuania, and Taiwan.
