This year, 112 young pianists are participating; Lithuania is being represented by Paulius Rudokas. The winner will be determined over the course of several stages by 7 jury members with Lithuanian Professor Jurgis Karnavičius being one of them.
On the occasion of the Lithuanian Presidency of the European Union, the six pianists who make it into the semi-finals will be accompanied by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis's string quartet on 16–17 October; during the final concert on 19 October three pianists will be accompanied by the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Robertas Šervenikas.
On 19 October, the three finalists will perform compositions of Frédéric Chopin, Sergei Rachmaninoff, and Ludwig van Beethoven. After the concert and the announcement of the winner, the Lithuanian PM Algirdas Butkevičius's prize will be awarded by Jolanta Balčiūnienė, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to France.
The final concert and the award ceremony will be broadcast live on the LRT channel and the Eurovision Song Contest.
In April 2015, the competition's winner will play at the EP.
The competition is sponsored by the EP, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the region of Lower Normandy; Lithuania's participation – by the Government of the Republic of Lithuania, the Ministry of Culture, and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in France.
