Only two Lithuanian institutions are included into THE Rankings of European universities – KTU and Vilnius University.
Institutions were assessed on their teaching environment, research environment, citations (research influence), industry income and international outlook, and the World University Rankings methodology underpinning the Europe ranking was independently audited in 2016. KTU is best ranked in Industry Income and International Outlook categories.
THE World University Rankings, established in 2004 is being praised by professionals for its methodology and valued as one of the most reliable tools for ranking higher education institutions. According to the publisher of the rankings Times Higher Education Magazine, European universities comprise only 40 percent of the best world universities. In total, higher education institutions from 35 European countries were ranked for 2016–2017 THE Rankings for Europe.
In the beginning of this month, the results of 2018 QS World University Rankings have been announced. KTU has sustained its strong position among 2.7 percent of the worlds’ best universities. KTU is especially valued among employers – at 334 globally, the Employer Reputation indicator is the strongest one for KTU.
