“During recent years we have decided to engage with our international network more and invite international colleagues to participate in various studies and research processes at the Faculty; so we can offer high quality studies to our students. We are very happy that our partners are very active in developing internationalisation of our Faculty,” says prof. dr. Jelena Stankevičienė, the Dean of the Faculty of Business Management and affirms that international dimension has always been very important to the Faculty.

Lectures to the students
Some of the guests came to VGTU to teach. Lectures to the Faculty’s students were given by prof. Claudio Ruibal from the University of Montevideo (Uruguay), prof. Alvair Silveira Torres Junior from the University of São Paulo (Brazil), prof. Jules Hugot from the Pontifical Xavierian University in Bogota (Colombia), dr. Hele Hammer from Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia) and lect. Anastasiya Nurzhynska from the National Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (Ukraine).
Defence of doctoral thesis
On 12 May, professor Leon Pretorius from the University of Pretoria in South Africa participated in the defence of J.Sabaitytė doctoral thesis “Internet Marketing Communication System” as a member of the Dissertation Defence Council of Scientific Field of Management at VGTU.
International scientific conference
On 11-12 May, an international scientific conference “Contemporary Issues in Business, Management and Education 2017” took place at VGTU. The following guests were speakers on the plenary session:
- Filippo Reganati, Maria Oliva – “The Determinant of Money Laundering: Evidence from Italian Regions”;
- Renata Korsakienė, The Faculty of Business Management at VGTU – “Internationalization of High Growth Firms: Evidence from Lithuania”;
- Francois Joubert, Leon Pretorius – “Using Risk Simulation to Reduce the Capital Cost Requirement for a Programme of Capital Projects”;
- Eleftherios Thalassinos – “Country Risk and Financial Crises”.
The conference was very well attended by Lithuanian and international researchers. Participants of the conference were from South Africa, Finland, Ukraine, Germany, Italy, Greece, Portugal, Czech Republic, Poland, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Russia etc.
