“By travelling with Erasmus+ exchange to Greece I had a chance to get to know a different culture, to meet new people and to travel. Besides, we are very familiar with the Lithuanian teaching and studying system, and experiencing a different one is always enriching”, says Lukas Gužauskas, a second year student of KTU Faculty of Informatics.
Lukas, who has a hearing disability, says that it was not a huge impediment for the studies abroad. In the beginning of the exchange semester he spent a couple of weeks learning Greek sign language.
“However, Greek people are very friendly and they do not hesitate to walk extra mile for you: even without knowing sign language they try to explain things by gestures, and, because of their temper, they often succeed”, says Lukas.
In the ExchangeAbility event Lukas joined other students, who teach languages to each other, and taught sign language.
