According to S. Vasarevičius, teaching was the main purpose of the visit, but besides teaching he was also happy to participate in an international conference "Low Carbon Asia", organised by UTM, which took place at the same time in Kuala Lumpur. VGTU representative was a speaker and a chair of one of the sessions at the conference. Most of the conference participants were from Asian countries, such as Japan, China, Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, India etc. Europe was represented only by three researchers. Apart from the Lithuanian representative, there were participants from Slovenia and Hungary. The later participant is the editor of the Journal of Cleaner Production, which is known internationally for its high citation index.
"Most of my impressions are related to having an exotic experience. About 70 per cent of Malaysian population are Muslim, and female students and lecturers dress according to religious requirements. On the last day of my visit, the hosts took me to a bird park and the Old Royal Palace. It was an excellent opportunity to see some rare exotic birds," happily remembers S. Vasarevičius.
Without a doubt, successful cooperation between VGTU and UTM will be developed further. Master students from UTM are expected visit VGTU for studies and research, and joint publications are being planned.
