According to the press release from the administration of the Lithuanian Association for General Admissions (LAMA BPO), the invitations to study at state-funded places at KTU were sent to 1,553 applicants, (in 2015 this number was 1,449). As the entry requirements for those willing to study with state funding are higher than for studying at self-funded places, the increase in the number of the former means that more and more talented students choose KTU.
The most popular study programmes at KTU are Software Systems, Informatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, Food Science and Technology, Multimedia Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Finances.
The KTU study programmes which attracted more applicants than last year are: Applied Physics (number of applicants increased by 64%), Fashion Engineering (plus 56%), Production Engineering (plus 54%), Marketing (plus 47%), Applied Chemistry (plus 46%), Software Systems (plus 45%), Translation of Technical Texts (plus 45%), Aviation Engineering (plus 40%).
