The multimedia bench playing Oginski's music is set up in Sirvydas Square in Vilnius Old Town, the embassy said.
While seated on the bench and having pressed a button, one will be able to hear Oginski's music and read his brief biography.
The inauguration ceremony followed by an orienteering game for Vilnius residents to check their knowledge about Oginski's life and work.
The Lithuanian parliament announced 2015 as the year of Oginski. His 250th birth anniversary was also put on the UNESCO list of memorable dates.
Oginski (1765–1833) was a multi-talented personality: a politician, a diplomat, a member of the parliament of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, an honorary member of Vilnius University Council, a member of the Lithuanian guerrilla government, a writer and a composer who was actively involved in political, governance, educational, social reforms activities, contributing to the abolition of serfdom, improvement of access to culture and promotion of public creativity.
Oginski is buried in Florence, Italy.
