Smart meters will transmit the information about energy consumption via a secure connection, and residents will never have to write down the meter readings again, they will be able to see accurate consumption details, receive new services from market participants as well as consume energy more efficiently. The contract value of the largest smart metering project in the Baltic states amounts to EUR 75 million. EUR 10 million – that is the amount allocated this year for replacing gas cylinders in blocks of flats with alternative energy sources. Applications for the full amount have already been received. Subsequent applications will be placed on a reserve list and should receive funding next year. Minister of Finance G. With the upcoming launch of the Freedom ID on 24 May, the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation provides key information on what businesses should about it. According to the Ministry’s estimates, at the beginning of June almost 1.5 million people will already have access to the Freedom ID without testing. In response to the publicly revealed information, the Bank of Lithuania presents information about Wirecard and Finolita Unio. There are already more than 10,000 electricity prosumers in Lithuania, and in the first four months of this year alone, they produced more electricity than in the whole of 2019. The Centre of Excellence in Anti-Money Laundering starts its activities in Lithuania. Bringing together representatives of both the public and private sectors, it aims to lift anti-money laundering practices implemented in the country to a whole new level. The Centre will be led by Eimantas Vytuvis, a highly experienced lawyer and certified anti-money laundering specialist. |
