City Service, the Lithuanian real estate maintenance group with operations in the Baltic states, Poland, Spain and Russia, has expanded its building maintenance portfolio in Spain.

Infrastructure projects in terms of their attractiveness to private sector investors. The agency will now be responsible for analysing any Lithuanian infrastructure project whose value exceeds €25 million, before providing recommendations to the government on the likely interest of business partners. This new function for Invest Lithuania has been assigned by the amendment of the rules for the planning, revision, usage, accounting and control of funds earmarked for state investment by the Lithuanian government.

The Lithuanian state seaport of Klaipeda posted a net profit of 25.3 mln euros for the three quarters of this year, up 33% from 19 mln euros in the same period last year.

As of 1 February 2017, banks and credit unions will be required to provide the possibility for residents to receive all key payment services for no more than EUR 1.5, for low-income residents — EUR 0.75 per month. Such a price was set in line with the methodology approved by the Bank of Lithuania. The basket includes a wide range of daily payment services, while consumers will be able to freely choose whether to take advantage of the basket of services connected to the main payment account, informs Bank of Lithuania in press release.

Estonia's liquefied natural gas supplier JetGas sees the possibility of gaining grounds on the Lithuanian market next year. The company's board member Janek Parkman told BNS that the company was interested in both construction of LNG stations in Druskininkai and industrial gas supplies in Rokiskis and Kelm.

A Vilnius court has given the green light to the state energy group Lietuvos Energija (Lithuanian Energy) to continue the construction of a new biomass and waste-fired cogeneration plant in the capital.

The Lithuanian Finance Ministry has redeemed bonds with a face value of 200 mln US dollars prior to maturity in the secondary market.

Latvia's building materials and household goods chain Depo is looking to open its first store in Klaipeda by this Christmas with plans to open four more stores in other Lithuanian cities in late 2017, which means that the Latvian retailer is unlikely to have any major impact on the market until 2018.

Lithuania's state-run companies posted 137.499 mln euros in an aggregate normalized profit (net profit excluding property and commodity taxes payable to the state) in January through September 2016, up by 18.9%, from 115.602 mln euros, from the same period of 2015.
