The agency will now be responsible for analysing any Lithuanian infrastructure project whose value exceeds €25 million, before providing recommendations to the government on the likely interest of business partners. This new function for Invest Lithuania has been assigned by the amendment of the rules for the planning, revision, usage, accounting and control of funds earmarked for state investment by the Lithuanian government. The Lithuanian state seaport of Klaipeda posted a net profit of 25.3 mln euros for the three quarters of this year, up 33% from 19 mln euros in the same period last year. Latvia's building materials and household goods chain Depo is looking to open its first store in Klaipeda by this Christmas with plans to open four more stores in other Lithuanian cities in late 2017, which means that the Latvian retailer is unlikely to have any major impact on the market until 2018.
