The handling was equal to 4,51 million tones in Klaipėda Port and Būtingė terminal in March 2013; this is 22,4 percent or 825,4 thousand tones more than in March 2012.
The greatest influence on the handling growth was made by:
- fertilizers (1 325,1 thousand tones loaded, +67,0 percent or +531,8 thousand tones);
- agricultural products (318,0 thousand tones loaded, +224,1 percent or +219,9 thousand tones), out of which:
- cereal (217,5 thousand tones handles, changed by +192,9 percent or +143,2 thousand tones);
- soybean meal (the growth was 7,3 times or +49,8 thousand tones, 57,6 thousand tones loaded in March 2013);
- petroleum products (952,3 thousand tones poured, +21,3 percent or +167,2 thousand tones).
The handling of peat was noticeably lower in March 2013 - 16,1 thousand tones (-66,7 percent or -32,1 thousand tones).
