At the end of 2014, financial and insurance enterprises (excluding individual enterprises) accumulated EUR 41 361.4 million of assets, which is by 10.1% more than at the end of 2013.
The assets of commercial banks accounted for the largest proportion (at the end of 2014, 59.3%) of the assets of all financial enterprises; over the year, their assets increased by EUR 1 174.6 million, or 5%. Over the year, the largest decrease in assets was observed in management enterprises – by EUR 4.5 million, or 18.6%, and in other enterprises with activities auxiliary to insurance and pension funding, including insurance agents and risk and damage evaluation enterprises, – by EUR 1.6 million, or 17.8%. In some financial enterprises, an increase in assets was observed.
Over the year, the largest increase in assets was observed in the Bank of Lithuania – by EUR 1 964.8 million, or 32%, and non-life insurance enterprises – by EUR 81.2 million, or 27.6%.
