The overall price change was mainly influenced by a 6.8% decrease in prices for the production of the manufacture of refined petroleum products, 2.6% – chemicals and chemical products, 0.7% – food products, as well as by a 1.1% increase in prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (gas went up in price by 2.6%, steam and air conditioning supply – 1.9%, while electricity went down in price by 0.2%) (See Table 2).
Over the month, prices for industrial production sold on the Lithuanian market decreased by 0.2%. The largest decrease in prices was observed for the production of manufacture of refined petroleum products (3.4%), printing and reproduction of recorded media (3.4%), while increase – manufacture of leather and related products (2.8%), rubber and plastic products (2.3%). As for food products, the largest decrease in prices was observed for fruit, berry and vegetable juice (6.7%), sugar (5.1%), bread and fresh pastry (4.3%); yet an increase in prices was observed for prepared pet food (10.7%), rusks and biscuits, preserved pastry goods and cakes (3.8%).
Over the month, prices for products sold on the non-Lithuanian market dropped by 3.1%. A decrease in prices was observed for the production of extraction of crude petroleum (12.9%), refined petroleum products (7.6%) while increase – manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (2.6%), computer, electronic and optical products (2.2%). Over the month, prices for industrial production sold on the euro area market decreased by 4.2%, on the non-euro area market – 2.3%.
Over the year (July 2015, against July 2014), prices for the total industrial production sold decreased by 8.8%, refined petroleum products excluded – 2.3%. The overall change in prices was mainly influenced by a decrease in prices for production of manufacture of refined petroleum products (24.6%) and an increase in prices for the production of chemicals and chemical products (10.1%). The largest decrease in prices was observed for the production of extraction of crude petroleum (36.1%), while increase – manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (10.1%).
The overall change in prices for industrial production sold is influenced not only by the rate of change in the price of a certain product but also by the relative share (weight) of the industrial production sold within certain economic activity in the total industrial production.
