Over the month, prices for building materials and products decreased by 0.2%. The largest price drop was observed for pipes – by 1, finishing materials – by 0.8%; an increase in prices was observed for general building materials – by 0.3%, electrical engineering materials, windows and doors, and wood products – by 0.1% each.
Hourly costs of the operation of construction machines and mechanisms increased by just 0.03%.
As for buildings and structures, the largest price drop over the month was observed for the construction of the utility infrastructure (except for wastewater pipelines) – by 0.8%. Renovation of buildings went down in price by 0.7%.
Over the year (March 2015, against March 2014), construction input prices increased by 1%. It was conditioned by a 4% increase in wages and salaries, 0.7% – hourly labour costs of the operation of construction machines and mechanisms, as well as by a 0.2% decrease in prices for building materials and products.
As for building materials and products, the largest price drop over the year was observed for finishing materials – by 2.7, insulation materials – by 2.5, and pipes – by 1.7%, while prices for general building materials and wood products increased by 1.5% each, concrete and reinforced concrete products – by 1.1%.
As for buildings and structures, the largest price growth over the year was observed for the construction of residential buildings – by 1.7%. Renovation of buildings went up in price by 1.9%.
The influence on the overall change in construction input prices is determined not only by the change in the construction input component price but also by the relative share (weight) of that component in the total value of construction.
