Payments, based on a special aid scheme for cattle and sheep sectors, will commence on 1 March and will end on 30 June.
Aid has been calculated applying progressive payment scale, i.e. payouts will be greater for those farmers who keep less animals. Payouts for those who keep 1-5 beef cattle will be EUR 109.83 for each animal, for 6-50 animals – EUR 105.93, for 51-100 – EUR 97.91, for 101-150 – EUR 94.05, for over 151 – EUR 86.48 each.
Payments for those who keep 1-50 sheep for meat will be EUR 11.14 for each animal, EUR 7.80 for 51-100 animals, EUR 7.22 for 101-150, EUR 6.30 for over 151.
Direct payments for beef cattle and sheep will be paid once a year from the European Agricultural Guarantee Fund (EAGF). EUR 13.2 million has been allocated for livestock kept for meat in 2014, EUR 11.9 million for beef cattle and EUR 1.3 million for sheep.
