Electricity generation in thermal power plants of the Baltic States decreased due to greater supply of electricity from Nordic countries and increased electricity generation in Latvia's hydroelectric power plants. Electricity import from the North increased by one and a half times, mostly because of 100 MW (12%) greater Estonia-Latvia electricity link throughput and decreased wind power generation.
International Latvia-Estonia electricity link throughput on 19-25 January was used on average at 92%, Lithuania-Latvia at 60%, Lithuania Belarus at 19%.
