Strong demand for re-exports again saved the automotive market from decline.
In December, registration of personal use vehicles (M1) went up by 10% to 1,023 vehicles, while the light commercial vehicle (N1) market decreased by as much as 36% to 159 vehicles.
Last month, Fiat was again leading in Lithuania's new car market (223 vehicles), Volkswagen came second (182 vehicles) while Toyota remained third (122 vehicles). In the luxury car category BMW again had the leading role (23 vehicles).
In 2014, a total of 16,452 new passenger vehicles were registered or by 18% more than in 2013 (13,986 vehicles).
In December, a second supercar Porsche 918 Spyder was registered in the country.
