"As of now, our flight tickets will be available for the Belarusians in all partner offices of Ticketing Airport Services Belarus in Minsk and other regions of Belarus," says Air Lituanica Director of Commerce Simonas Bartkus. "People in Belarus are used to buy tickets and plan journeys through travel agencies therefore we have decided it was essential to have our own official commercial representatives in this segment with such a great flight demand in order to satisfy it."
According to Zydre Gaveliene, the president of the Lithuanian Chamber of Tourism, Belarusians are not only willing to travel but they can also afford it therefore working with this neighbouring market is very welcome. "The residents of our neighbouring country value a possibility to travel from Lithuania, so a considerable part of them frequently give preference to Lithuanian companies' travel offers when purchasing particular services or a whole service package. This reveals a great opportunity of more customers not only for Air Lituanica but also the International Vilnius Airport and Vilnius itself," she said.
According to Bartkus, the market of the neighbour-country lacks variety of flight destinations for a long time already and the fact that Lithuanian trademarks are appreciated and associated with good quality and price ratio in Belarus is going to enhance the position of Air Lituanica. The company estimates the majority of tickets to be sold for Munich, Brussels, Amsterdam and Tallinn, Air Lituanica said.
