The factory completed the repairs in one of the two ammonium production plants and now is running both plants, as well as it has resumed the operation of the co-generation plant, Achema Group said.
One of the two ammonium production plants and the co-generation plant were stopped last May.
The operation of one of the two ammonium plants was stopped due to the need to go ahead with the scheduled repairs as well as in response to developments on the fertiliser market.
"Scheduled repairs of manufacturing facilities are necessary at least every second year. In addition to repairs of manufacturing facilities we have continuously upgraded technological processes in the factory, which will help us improve energy efficiency and corporate competitiveness in the future", said Director General of Achema Ramunas Miliauskas.
According to Miliauskas, the fertiliser market is recovering, prices demonstrate a modest increasing trend; as a result, the factory is planning to operate at full capacity in the fourth quarter.
In January-August this year Achema produced over 2.4 million tonnes of fertilisers, which is a slight increase compared to the same period last year. Despite the fact that the company has reported drop in earnings of almost 10%, the predicted results of the fourth quarter and the year-end indicators are better than last year when the factory was working at only half of its current capacity.
AB Achema is the largest manufacturer of nitric fertilisers and other chemical products in Lithuania and the largest factory of this kind in the entire Baltic Sea region.
